Zerbanoo’s heritage goes back to ancient Persia. Her ancestors were followers of Zoroaster, the first prophet to proclaim the one God, free will and the endless battle between Good and Evil culminating in a Day of Judgement when all are accountable for their thoughts, words and deeds. Zerbanoo has combined the Zoroastrian traditions of philanthropy, public service and fighting for others’ rights. She is married to Richard, a human rights lawyer. They have two sons, Mark and Alex, who have grown up participating in their parents' shared passion for social justice. The family has now expanded to include Mark's wife, Monica, and four grandchildren - William, Fleur, Sam and Jimi.
